Privacy Policy

Updated 3 November 2026

Conversation of Money Ltd (“we”, “our” or “us”) runs Calm Money. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use it and the rights you have. It covers this website, our emails, Calm Money membership and our coaching sessions.

Who we are

Conversation of Money Ltd is the data controller for your personal information. We are a company registered in the United Kingdom.

  • Address: 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG
  • Email: hello@peterkomolafe.com

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name and email address, when you join our mailing list, become a member, book a session or contact us.
  • Anything you share with us in coaching sessions, calls, WhatsApp or your coaching journal.
  • Your fact find, which you fill in before your first session. It asks about your goals, your contact details and date of birth, your work, your household, your income and spending, your home, your debts, savings, investments, pensions and insurance, and what you’d like to focus on. Most questions are optional.
  • If you tell us about your partner or the people who depend on you, such as their name, work, income or ages, we use it only to understand your finances. Please let them know you’ve shared it.
  • If you are a member and agree to share a story with us, the answers you give in our member questionnaire. We only publish a story with your written permission.

Your coaching journal

If you have coaching with us, you get a private online journal that only you and Peter can see. It holds:

  • your fact find;
  • your monthly entries and any voice notes you record;
  • your goals, monthly tasks and session bookings;
  • your results from the tools Peter shares with you, such as the Money Personality Test, the Wheel of Life and the Pension Gap Calculator;
  • Peter’s replies, notes and voice notes to you;
  • PDFs you and Peter send each other, such as bank statements or payslips. If a document includes someone else’s details, such as a joint account, please let them know you’ve shared it;
  • Peter’s private notes from your sessions, which only he can see. You can ask for a copy of these at any time (see “Your rights”).

You log in with your email address and a password. We use your journal only to deliver your coaching.

Information collected when you use our website

  • Basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit.
  • We count visits with Umami, which doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything on your device and doesn’t identify you. It records things like which pages are viewed and which buttons are pressed, as totals.
  • If you use your coaching journal and turn on notifications, we store a code for each device you choose so we can send notifications to it. Notifications say what changed but never include figures or results. Emails about journal updates are sent through Klaviyo. You can turn notifications off in the journal at any time.
  • We do not use advertising cookies. If we start to, for example the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, we will only collect that information if you agree to it first. See “Cookies” below.

Information we don’t collect

  • The figures you enter in the calculator stay in your browser. We don’t see or store them unless you ask us to email you your result. Then we receive your email address and your forecast (your dates, monthly amount and debt balance) through Klaviyo. We also make a picture of your forecast for the email. It is stored by Netlify at a private link that is hard to guess, and anyone with the link can see it.
  • We don’t see or store your card or bank details. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Health information

Health information is special category data, which the law protects more strongly. We ask for it in three places, and all are optional:

  • Your fact find has optional questions about whether you smoke or vape, whether you’re in good health and any medical conditions you’d like Peter to know about. They only unlock if you tick a box to give your explicit consent. We use your answers to help with your planning, for example around insurance, and we’ll only pass them to another professional if you give permission each time. You can leave them blank and still send your fact find.
  • The Wheel of Life in your coaching journal includes an optional Health score from 1 to 10. We only keep it if you tick a box to give your explicit consent when you fill in the wheel. You can withdraw that consent with “Remove my Health scores” on the wheel, which deletes your Health score from every wheel you’ve saved.
  • The Retirement Visualiser asks two optional questions about your health in retirement. They only unlock if you tick a box to give your explicit consent, and we only keep your answers if you do. You can leave them blank and still finish.

You can withdraw your consent for any of them at any time by emailing us, and we’ll delete your health answers. This doesn’t affect your coaching.

Apart from that, we don’t ask for special category data. If you choose to share something like this with us during coaching, for example in a journal entry, we only use it to support you and keep it confidential.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each way we use your information.

  • To deliver the membership you’ve bought, including your coaching, your coaching journal, your fact find and, for existing members, the platform. Basis: to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep the health answers in your fact find and the Retirement Visualiser, and your Health score from the Wheel of Life, if you choose to share them. Basis: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To use your date of birth for planning, such as your pension and retirement timeline, and so Peter can wish you a happy birthday. Basis: contract for planning, and our legitimate interests for birthday messages. Tell us if you’d rather not get them.
  • To take payments, issue receipts and handle refunds. Basis: contract, and our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.
  • To reply to you when you contact us. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering your questions.
  • To send you marketing emails about money and Calm Money. Basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To send you service emails about something you’ve bought, such as login details or session dates. Basis: contract. You can’t opt out of these while you’re a member, but we keep them to what’s needed.
  • To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it. We use Umami, which counts visits and actions without cookies or personal information. Basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To measure and improve our advertising, if we start using advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Basis: your consent, which we will ask for before any of these tools run.
  • To show our adverts to people on our mailing list, or to people similar to them, on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. We do not do this at the moment. If we start, we will only include you if you have agreed to it separately, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.
  • To meet our legal obligations and protect our rights, for example in a dispute. Basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with other companies for their own marketing.

We share it only with the service providers who help us run Calm Money, and only as much as they need. They may only use it on our instructions. They are:

  • Klaviyo, for our emails.
  • Stripe, to take payments.
  • Netlify, which hosts this website and your coaching journal, and stores the picture of your forecast for your email.
  • Supabase, which holds your journal login (your email address and a scrambled copy of your password) and sends the emails to confirm your email address or reset your password. Its servers are in London.
  • Apple, Google or Mozilla, if you turn on journal notifications. Their push services pass notifications to your device. Each notification is encrypted, so they can’t read it.
  • Umami, which counts visits to this website without cookies or personal information.
  • Bunny.net, which hosts and plays the video on this page.
  • The hosting provider for our members’ platform. The platform is built for us, and your information on it stays under our control.
  • Meta (Facebook), for advertising measurement and remarketing, only if we start using it and you’ve consented.

We may also share information:

  • with our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
  • with the police, regulators or courts, where the law requires it;
  • with a buyer, if we sell all or part of our business, who must keep to this policy.

International transfers

Some of our providers, including Klaviyo, Stripe and (if we start using it) Meta, store information outside the UK, mainly in the United States. When this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • The picture of your forecast: 12 months, then it’s deleted.
  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your email address on a suppression list so we don’t email you again by mistake.
  • Your coaching journal: for as long as you’re a member, then 12 months after your membership ends. After that it’s deleted automatically, including your fact find, entries, voice notes, tool results and Peter’s private notes.
  • PDFs you send Peter in your journal: deleted automatically 12 months after you send them, or sooner if you delete them. PDFs Peter sends you are kept with your journal.
  • Members: your account, purchase and payment records, for as long as you’re a member, then for 6 years after, to meet tax and accounting rules and in case of legal claims.
  • Applications that don’t go ahead: up to 12 months.
  • Emails and messages with us: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for one of the reasons above.
  • Website and cookie data: if we start using analytics or advertising cookies, for the periods shown when we ask for your consent, and no longer than 26 months.

We keep a nightly backup of the coaching journals, so nothing is lost by mistake. Each backup is deleted after 35 days, so anything we delete is gone from the backups within 35 days too.

When we no longer need your information, we delete it or anonymise it so it can’t identify you.

How we protect it

We use secure, encrypted connections on this website, limit who can access your information and choose providers with strong security. No system is completely secure, but if a data breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office as the law requires.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • object to how we use it, including for marketing at any time;
  • ask us to send it to you or another organisation in a common format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email hello@peterkomolafe.com. We’ll reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. There’s no charge in most cases.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website.

  • Essential cookies make the website work. They don’t need your consent.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies help a website understand how it is used and show adverts to people who have visited it. We do not use any at the moment. Our visitor counting (Umami) doesn’t use cookies. If we start to, for example the Meta (Facebook) Pixel or an analytics tool, we will ask for your consent before setting them, let you change your choice at any time, and update this policy.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
